Complete any of the past assignments that you have not done, OR:
Open this page for fun music activities that I have found for you that are on the internet.
Week of May 4-8: (last week of new lessons)
1. Today you are going to learn about the String family of the orchestra and then do a fun activity to review all the instrument families.
Log into Quavermusic.com with your username and password. (first and last name, birthdate) (If you have not yet signed up for a Quaver account, follow the directions in purple at the bottom of this page.)
Once you are logged in, click on "Assignments", then select "May 4-8." Read my instructions and go through the activities. On each page is a white "instructions" tab that you should view. When you are done, use the yellow "Next" arrow to advance to the next activity. You are going to do the following today:
a. View some short videos about ways that String instruments can be played.
b. Arrange some string music and make up a story. (I've provided further instructions on the page.) If you'd like to share your story with me on Seesaw, open up your music page on Seesaw and share a video of yourself telling your story with the music!
c. Play "Instrument Crane."
Next week will be a "catch up" week to give you a chance to catch up on all the assignments that you haven't been able to complete yet, so there will be no new lesson. I will post some fun enrichment activities.
Week of April 27 - May 1:
1. Today you are going to learn about the Brass family of instruments, and take a quiz to see if you know the difference between woodwind and brass instruments.
Log into Quavermusic.com with your username and password. (first and last name, birthdate) (If you have not yet signed up for a Quaver account, follow the directions in purple at the bottom of this page.)
2. Once you are logged in, click on "Assignments", then click on "3rd Grade April 27-May 1." Read my instructions and go through the activities. Use the yellow "Next" arrow to advance to the next activity. You will do the following today:
a. Watch a Quaver episode on the Brass family.
b. Take a quiz. The results will be submitted to me.
Week of April 20-24:
1. Sing along with Mrs. Trude on "It Don't Mean a Thing If It Ain't Got That Swing." Here is the video.
2. We are going to start a unit on the instruments of the orchestra. Log into Quavermusic.com with your username and password. (first and last name, birthdate) (If you have not yet signed up for a Quaver account, follow the directions in purple at the bottom of this page.)
3. Once you are logged in, click on "Assignments", then click on "3rd Grade April 20-24." Read my instructions and go through the activities. Use the yellow arrow to advance to the next activity. You are going to do the following today:
a. Watch a Quaver episode on the Woodwind family.
b. Do an activity to identify the woodwinds that you hear.

Week of April 13-17:
1. Do you remember "Do Re Mi" from The Sound of Music? Sing along with me on this video.
2. Create music with words, using the website Word Synth. Do the tutorial first to learn how to create. Then, start playing. See what you can create out of your own words and melody. Finally, share your creation with me on SeeSaw.
If you have a separate device, make a video of your Word Synth song using the camera on your device. Here is mine.
If you cannot do a video, try sending me a picture of the song on your Word Synth screen.
Week of March 30 - April 3
IMPORTANT: Some of you have not yet created a Quaver account. If that is the case, please follow the directions in PURPLE at the bottom of this page so that you can do today's assignment.
If you have created an account, good job! Have you filled out this survey telling me so? If not, please fill it out now so that I know you are all set. (If you have any problems with getting into Quaver, email me at [email protected])

Week of March 24-27:
Some of you responded to this 3-question survey and let me know that you had set up your Quaver account. If you haven't, please follow the Week One plan (below.) If you already created a Quaver account but did not respond to my survey, please do so- it will take you about 20 seconds to fill it out!
1. Do some rhythm practice on Quaver. Login to Quaver. Go to Student Interactives. Select Music Theory. Find the "Note and Rest Grab" game (you'll see 3 soccer goals.) Play the game- select "Game Mode" and drag the balls into the correct goals. After you get good at the game, exit and find "Note and Rest Grab Level 2" (you'll see fish bowls.) This one is more challenging. How well can you do? I got 40 points. :)
2. Sing along with "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot" at this link. You may have to log on using your student ID # and Fulton password to get into Safari Montage.
Week of March 17-20 and March 23:
Your assignment is to set up a student account in Quaver.
a. Open (and PRINT if you can) these directions for getting your student account.
b. Set up your account according to the directions. If you have any trouble, email me at [email protected]

- On your laptop or desktop, go to Classlink and log on using your Fulton County email information
- Select SeeSaw
- Click on your name on the left top corner to see the drop-down menu and select the music folder. It should have my name (Mrs. Trude) on it. Upload your video (or pic) on there.
- If you are accessing SeeSaw on a phone or tablet, no NOT go through ClassLink. Use the QR code below to post your work. (Please note, this code should not be made public or shared on social media
